Today, the International Committee of the Red Cross sent around 70 tons of humanitarian aid to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh through the Lachin Corridor. Ms Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office, told “News” that the main part of the cargo is flour and other ingridents needed for baking bread. Ms Amatuni also added that yesterday through the organization, 9 wounded people were transported to local hospitals in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“After the military operations on 19 September, this is the first time that our organization has been able to deliver food items to the local population.
At the same time, I can say that our teams are working, discussing with the decision-makers the various needs and the possibility of repeating such support, as well as trying to implement the humanitarian mission with other issues,” he said.
