On 28 March, another lawsuit regarding confiscation of property of illicit origin was admitted to the proceedings of the Anti-Corruption Court.
The Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA General Prosecutor’s Office, submitted a request to the court for the confiscation of property of illicit origin, from the former Mayor of Masis S.H., and related his persons in favor of the Republic of Armenia:
- 15 immovable properties in Ararat marz, and in case of impossibility, their average market values, which in total amount to more than 288 million 86 thousand 250 AMD.
- The market value of 1 participation in a legal entity, 5 movable properties and 5 immovable properties, which has not yet been assessed;
- 58 million 515 thousand 628 AMD, which during the period 1998-2021 is not justified by the legal income of a person, has an illicit origin, was transferred to a bona fide acquirer or cannot be identified and confiscated based on Article 20 of the RA Law “On Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin” Legal regulation of part 4 (Where the illicit property has been transferred to a bona fide acquirer, or it is impossible to identify, separate or confiscate the illicit property, upon the court decision and in case there is a relevant request, an amount equal to the market value of the illicit property as of the time of filing a claim may be confiscated from the respondent, and in the case of impossibility of determining the market value – the amount equal to the acquisition of the given property).
