Yerem Sargsyan, the lawyer of Judge Boris Bakhshiyan of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Marz, applied to the Supreme Judicial Council, noting that the right to education of the judge is grossly violated.
The lawyer’s application states that Boris Bakhshiyan, before being arrested as a special applicant, had applied to the School of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia for admission, had passed the relevant stages and on 17 February, 2022 was to take part in the oral examination stage.
Yerem Sargsyan applied to the body conducting the criminal proceedings for consent, but the latter did not allow Judge Boris Bakhshiyan to exercise his right to education.
“I expect the active intervention of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia in the issue of ensuring the unimpeded implementation of Judge Boris Bakhshiyan’s educational right envisaged by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia,” the lawyer’s application reads.
It should be reminded that the Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan, chaired by Judge Davit Arghamanyan, decided to detain Judge Boris Bakhshiyan of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Marz. He is accused of apparently illegally detaining a person, which caused severe consequences.
On 31 January, the AJC unanimously decided to grant the motions to agree to prosecute Boris Bakhshiyan and to deprive the judge of his liberty.
