The Supreme Judicial Council nominated Hovsep Bedyan, Hrach Ayvazyan and Liana Hakobyan for the vacant position of Judge of the Civil-Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation. Today, on 14 September, the issue of electing a court judge was discussed in the National Assembly. The parliament elected one of these three candidates.

88 deputies participated in the election, 1 ballot was declared invalid.

Thus, the votes were distributed as follows:

Hovsep Bedyan – 80 votes

Hrach Ayvazyan – 1 vote

Liana Hakobyan – 6 votes.

Hovsep Bedyan will fill the vacancy of a judge of the Civil-Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

Notably, on 4 July, 2018, President Armen Sarkissian had signed a decree, appointing Hovsep Bedyan Chairman of the Administrative Court of Appeal for a three-year term. His term of office has already expired.
