In the briefing held after the government session, the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan referred to the new order that will enter into force on 1 October.
Accordingly, employers must require employees to provide proof of coronavirus vaccination or 2 monthly PCR tests.
Avanesyan noteed that in case of non-appearing at work, the employee’s entry to the workplace may also be prohibited. An employer who does not require a test will be punished.
“The consequence will be in appearing at work; next the given organization will also bear certain fines. And if the employee does not show up for work within a certain period of time, the employer also has the right to terminate the employment contract.,” she said.
According to the minister, this step leading to vaccination of citizens is legal.
“Everything is done within the framework of the constitution, and the RA laws. The Law on Sanitary and Epidemiological Protection of the Population is in force in Armenia, which has stipulations with clear points, with reference to which by-laws have been adopted, which derive from the laws. The norm, which is defined, fully complies with all the requirements,”Avanesyan said.
