Mr. Vahan Hunanyan Spokesman of the RA Foreign Ministry touched upon the question whether the Armenian government is going to assist Greece in overcoming the situation in the country due to forest fires.
“As it is known, wildfires have recently broken out in Greece, which have caused great damage to the country. Is the Armenian government going to assist Greece?” Armenpress asked.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman answered, “We are deeply concerned about the situation caused by the forest fires in friendly Greece and express our solidarity with the fraternal Greek people in these difficult times.
I should mention that we contacted our Greek partners and offered assistance. Greece expressed its gratitude to Armenia for the assistance and readiness offered, and at the same time informed that considering that the situation with fires in the country has passed from the crisis to a relatively mild stage, there is no need for additional assistance yet.
Of course, we will continue to follow the situation closely and, if necessary, will immediately reach out to the fraternal Greek people.”
