The Human Rights Defender’s Office has been collecting facts about the incident in order to check the information spread on social networks about the shootings from Shushi today. The Human Rights Defender of the Artsakh Republic Gegham Stepanyan reported.
“Representatives of the Human Rights Defender visited the Armenavan district of Stepanakert. During the meeting with the residents, they confirmed the fact that at about 5:00 pm the Azerbaijani side fired 4-5 times a short shot from a rifle.
The information was also confirmed by the state authorized bodies.
The incident was reported to the Russian peacekeeping forces.
According to the information received from the Ministry of Health and from the Stepanakert military hospital, there are no victims of the incident.
The Azerbaijani side, in gross violation of the trilateral statement on the ceasefire, has been resorting to more and more provocative actions in recent days, thus pursuing the goal of constantly intimidating the civilian population, creating an atmosphere of fear and tension.
The introduction of clear mechanisms for investigating incidents is simply a necessity to curb the aspirations of the Azerbaijani side and rule out provocations.
Azerbaijani encroachments on the physical and mental immunity of the people of Artsakh must be assessed by the Russian peacekeepers and the international community, including in public,” the statement said.
