Tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border are created by Azerbaijan. According to “Armenpress”, the acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Avinyan said this at a briefing with journalists, noting that the search for the culprits in other places leads us to a really wrong place.

“I note that the Azerbaijani side often creates tensions on the border. It is very important that we ourselves understand this, accept and persuade our international partners,” Avinyan said, noting that symmetrical responses should be given to border tensions, as restrained as possible, yet to understand that maintaining border security is the responsibility of our armed forces, border troops.

Referring to the resolution of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Avinyan noted. “Sooner or later, the border delimitation and demarcation should take place with all the neighbors. But breaking our border very roughly and locating inside our border, trying to blackmail us into some actions is an ineffective way; it will not give any results. Such an approach, the method of blackmail cannot be acceptable to the authorities and the people of the Republic of Armenia. Yes, it is necessary to sit at the negotiating table, but the first issue to be discussed is the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the borders of the Republic of Armenia.”

According to the RA Acting Deputy Prime Minister, currently, the solution of the artificially created problems is of primary importance, after which a discussion on fundamental issues will start. He also expressed confidence that this issue will have a diplomatic solution.
