The Deputy Foreign Minister resigned as well

Deputy Foreign Minister Gagik Ghalachyan has resigned. He submitted his resignation on 27 September. The Ministry informed Iravaban.net about this.

It should be noted that on 27 May, Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan also resigned. He had a farewell meeting with the employees of the department today, he said in his speech.

“It was very difficult for me to make this decision, but when I assumed this position, there was a criterion for me. This ministry, which is the birth of independence, must steadfastly defend our sovereignty, our independence, our state and national interests. I hope I have not left you ashamed, my decision to resign was conditioned by that very reason, so that there would never be any doubt that this ministry can take any step or agree to any ideas, initiatives that were against our statehood, our national-state interest. We have passed a long way together, and today I say goodbye to you with the kindest memories. “

Notably, Mane Gevorgyan, the spokesperson of the acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responded to Ara Ayvazyan’s statement.

“We thank Mr. Ayvazyan for the work done, however, we think that our state and national interest obliges Mr. Ayvazyan to publicly clarify who, when, where and how was going to take a step. or make a decision that contradicts the state and national interests of our country. We expect Mr. Ayvazyan to clarify them publicly.”
