RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page:

“On 28 January, 2021, on the instructions of the Human Rights Defender, the rapid response group , visited the persons brought or arrested from the Republic Square on the same day at the Investigation Department of the city of Yerevan. The ombudsman’s staff also monitored the rally.

During the visit, private conversations were held with the brought or detained, the grounds for their detention and the state of their rights were examined, as well as the documents prepared by the law enforcement bodies in that regard.

The results of the visit will be summarized, and the necessary steps will be taken within the framework of the initiated procedure, including a written procedure based on the complaints of some of them or the lawyers. ”
