The Armenian Restaurant Association proposes to lift out-of-date restrictions on catering

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia has announced its intention to extend the quarantine in the Republic of Armenia due to the coronavirus situation for another 6 months.

In this regard, the Armenian Restaurant Association has issued a statement saying:

“From the first day of the epidemic crisis, the member organizations of the Association called for observance of the established rules and ensuring their implementation in their own enterprises, thus contributing to the settlement of the epidemic situation and the reduction of cases.

Expressing satisfaction with the implemented programs to support the sector, at the same time we reiterate the need to consult in advance with the representatives of our field on the decision to be taken, especially by the Ministry of Health.

We emphasize that the observance of the same content of quarantine norms cannot be of a purely artificial and formal nature, not contributing to the real solution of the problem and causing continuous damage to the public catering enterprises that are already on the verge of collapse.

Based on the above, we suggest:

  1. Eliminate outdated restrictions related to the catering sector.
  2. Facilitate the entry of foreign guests, businessmen and tourists to Armenia, ensuring health security measures.

Reinstate the expedited issuance of a patent.

  1. Establish a permanent working group to resolve these issues and other issues arising in the field,” the statement said.
