Vahram Poghosyan, Spokesman for the Artsakh President answered Armenpress’ questions about the tense situation in the Berdadzor sub-region of the Shushi region.

– According to the information, the Azeris have blocked the road to Hin Shen village of Shushi region for a long time, in fact leaving the residents under blockade. What is the situation at the moment?

– The Azeri forces tried to put pressure on the Armenian side by placing a base on the road leading to Hin Shen, but as a result of the intervention of the Russian peacekeeping force today they managed to remove the Azeri base from the road and unblock Hin Shen. At the moment, there are both representatives of the Defense Army and Russian peacekeepers in the community, ensuring the security of the community residents as well as the peaceful and unhindered movement.

– Today, information was received that the Azeris had given 12 hours to the population of Yeghtsahogh near Hin Shen to leave the village. Is the information true?

– The information that the Azerbaijani side gave the residents 12 hours to leave the village does not correspond to reality. The matter referred to the military in one position of the Defense Army. In response, the Armenian side rejected the demand and the position is currently under the control of the Armenian forces.

– Information and videos appeared in the media, according to which 100 Armenians were taken prisoner, how reliable is that information?

– The Defense Army has not confirmed that information, so I do not rule out that the Azeri sources are spreading this news deliberately in order to create additional tension. We, of course, urgently study these materials to get a complete picture of the situation. I would like to add that in the sub-region the Defense Army and the Russian peacekeeping force are actively working to reduce the tension and prevent possible clashes.
