It is simply inadmissible to issue ultimatums to the people elected and legitimate authorities: Eduard Aghajanyan

“It is simply inadmissible to issue ultimatums to the people elected and legitimate authorities, especially considering the political forces setting those ultimatums and their political background,” Edurad Aghajanyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister said in an interview with Public Television.

Speaking about the candidate for Prime Minister nominated by the opposition parties, Eduard Aghajanyan said,

“First of all, it is necessary to take into account which parties are among the 17 or 16 parties, which parties nominate Mr. Manukyan. I will name only 3 parties among the 16, the existence of which dispels those assertions. “We are talking about the Republican Party, the Prosperous Armenia Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, which are the key forces that nominated Mr. Manukyan as a candidate for Prime Minister.”

According to him, to claim that Vazgen Manukyan is a neutral candidate is nonsense.

“I want to remind that Vazgen Manukyan is considered the founder of a club called “Vernatun”, which is not apolitical to put it mildly, has clear political positions, about which political statements have been made on different occasions. I think it is not appropriate to talk about Vazgen Manukyan’s political neutrality,” Eduard Aghajanyan said.

It should be reminded that 16 opposition parties nominated their candidate Vazgen Manukyan for Prime Minister, a few days ago. The opposition also submitted an ultimatum, according to which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan must resign by 8 December.
