After a briefing at the Georgian Interior Ministry, Deputy Foreign Minister Kakha Sabanadze stated that police did not use gas against protesters during a protest near the Central Electoral Commission building.
“There is misinformation about gas. The police did not use gas. I want everyone to take into account that such misinformation is inappropriate,” Kakha Sabanadze said.
Notably, at the moment a demonstration is taking place in front of the CEC of Georgia. The protesters demand the resignation of the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission and call for re-elections.
Earlier, footage was spread that the police used a water cannon, and shortly afterwards the local media spread information about the use of tear gas.
