The World Health Organization has called on governments around the world to prepare for a new pandemic. The corresponding message was published on the WHO website ahead of the 73rd annual session of the World Health Assembly. RIA Novosti reported.
“Last year, we saw that countries with solid infrastructure <…> in terms of preparedness for emergencies were able to act quickly to contain and control the spread of the SARC-CoV-2 virus,” the message says.
According to the WHO, more than 48.1 million cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded worldwide. Over 1.23 million people have died as a result of the pandemic.
