The message of the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide:
“Today we commemorate our compatriots who were subjected to genocide in their historical homeland 105 years ago. 1.5 million men, women, and children were killed just because they were Armenians.
This crime, which was organized at the state level in Ottoman Turkey, was a crime not only against the Armenian people, but against all humanity. I am convinced that modern Turkey’s confrontation with the fact of the Armenian Genocide, recognition and fair compensation has no alternative.
As a survivor of this tragedy, we are committed to speaking out on all occasions, not only about the genocide of our ancestors, but also about other genocides that followed the Genocide to prevent the recurrence of such crimes against humanity.”
