RA Defense Ministry Spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan released a statement saying:

“Azerbaijani official information platforms spread absolutely false and fake information about the situation on the border. On 1 April and then on 3 April, the Azeri State Border service disseminated groundless information that the Armenian Armed Forces allegedly opened fire on Azeri villages, posts, vehicles and agricultural workers in Azerbaijani villages.

Thus, the Azerbaijani side is trying to conceal its own actions aimed at destabilizing the situation at the border. Similar information preparatory work was undertaken prior to the 30 March unsuccessful diversion penetration attempt.

We reaffirm that the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is calm.

The Armenian Armed Forces will only take adequate steps.”
