RA Second President Robert Kocharyan’s Lawyer’s team informs:

“After receiving inpatient treatment at “Erebuni” Medical Center this morning, RA Second President Robert Kocharyan was transferred to “Yerevan-Kentron” penitentiary. Doctors have noted dynamics in his health, but have stated that Robert Kocharyan now needs constant medical supervision and further treatment.

The Lawyers’ team is discussing the appropriateness of transferring Robert Kocharyan to the penitentiary in the current situation and ensuring his health. There is also a need to review medical records at this time.

It is already known that there are confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the penitentiary system and tests are not sufficiently performed. Given this, defenders find that under such conditions Robert Kocharyan’s health does not allow him to be kept in a penitentiary where staff have not yet undergone a coronavirus test.

We would like to emphasize that the Lawyers’ team will not publish detailed information on Robert Kocharyan’s state of health – medical opinion, treatment received, as it is very personal information and a medical secret.”
