The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, considering the necessity of prevention of coronavirus and based on the current situation, launches a distance leraning platform – heravar.armedu.am in order to organize the educational process online in the public schools.
The platform has been developed by the National Center for Educational Technologies of the MESCS and is now available. To discuss the issues of effective organization of distance learning, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Zhanna Andreasyan invited a working meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Education, as well as representatives of educational institutions and platforms with experience in organizing distance learning.
The Deputy Minister noted that it is necessary to plan the work of organizing the educational process, combining the available alternatives and opportunities. This year the ministry has tested the possibility of introducing distance learning in two schools and now all schools will be involved in the process.
“We have a sufficient online resources and tools for organizing distance learning in Armenian language. There are schools with successful experience in the field of distance learning whom we asked to share experience, as well as to unite the potential available in the field to make distance learning effective and open and accessible to all,” Zh.Andreasyan said.
According to the Deputy Minister, during the past two days, preparatory work has been carried out at the National Center for Educational Technologies, and a comprehensive distance learning page has been launched, which is planned to present a systematic list of all schools in the country, according to subject teachers and pupils.
The unified platform created by the National Center for Educational Technologies will also present distance learning platforms of all organizations that are willing to collaborate with the Ministry by providing their resources and skills.

In the near future, all schools will be provided with mentor-teacher information on ICT training. They will provide online training and provide technical support and guidance for teachers.
