“Dear compatriots,

Based on the government’s decision to declare a state of emergency, I have decided to apply the provisions of the “Restrictions and Prohibitions on Conducting Rallies or Public Events” clause to the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia from 12:00 on 17 March. This concerns to the prohibition on the organization, conduct and participation of public events.

For the purposes of this decision, public events are the following events with the participation of 20 and more people::

– concerts, exhibitions, performances, theatrical performances and other sports, cultural, educational events,

– entertainment activities,

– festive and commemorative events, including, but not limited to, birthday (wedding), wedding (engagement), funeral arrangements.

I would like to note that in the case of funeral and funeral arrangements we will try to provide a little wider opportunity for participation, while at the same time ensuring that there is no crowding at the ceremony,” Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said.
