At a government meeting on 7 March, 2019, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that today there is a shadow wage logic in Armenia.

“If it was in the government, one should imagine that it is in other bodies as well. There is a formally registered salary and an envelope salary. We hope that we will help bring salaries into the tax field, which is why we lower the high wage income tax, because most of the high wages have come, the 23% threshold and stopped showing no movement; this is information that makes us think: This process must also be dynamic, we need to understand what results are and what is the it response,” he said.

MP Mane Tandilyan recalled the Prime Minister’s speech today and inquired about the stage in the fight against shadow wages.

Pashinyan responded to Tandilyan’s question.
