The “Bright Armenia” Party media team always follows citizens’ responses and reports it to the party’s Governing Board.

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the “Bright Armenia” Party, said this at a briefing in the National Assembly today, 17 December, talking about why the only member of the Yerevan Council of the Elders, Davit Khazhakyan, should be recalled and the expediency of his further activities in the Council.

“After yesterday’s speeches in the Council, we had to respond somehow to so many writers and those asking so many questions. This is a reaction and that response will also have a decision to be taken by the Governing Board in the future,” he said.

The faction MP Mane Tandilyan noted that the party has its agenda and ideology both in the National Assembly and in the Council of the Elders. “When the Governing Board estimates that the “Luys” faction is drifting away from the party line, we must understand how expedient our participation is in this case, or in what format it is appropriate to continue, because we must bear responsibility for what we do and with which the party fully agrees,” the MP said.

Edmon Marukyan also noted that the party is pleased with Davit Khazhakyan’s work and that he has shown how he should work for the opposition member of the Council. “There are situations that are beyond Khazhakyan’s influence, but he is responsible for the faction, and that responsibility also extends to the “Bright Armenia” Party,” Edmon Marukyan said. According to him, their party is not blamed for the activities of their members.

He noted that yesterday, 16 December, Davit Khajakyan revealed official fraud, which was not covered (Editorial. He also noted that the “Luys” faction could not have any influence on the Council.

“What should we regret about Davit Khazhakyan? Davit Khazhakyan may be a mayor in the future, or may be an MP,” Edmon Marukyan said. He also mentioned that as far as he understands, Davit Khajakyan is currently the number one star of the municipality.

Notably, Davit Khajakyan from “Bright Armenia” Party and Tehmina Vardanyan and Ani Khachatryan from “Republic” Party represent “Luys” Faction in the Yerevan Council of the Elders.
