MP Naira Zohrabyan wrote: “Acting Chief of Police, your subordinates do not know the law.”
Yesterday, the director of “Dilijan National Park” publicly shot the dog and gave a proud interview that the dog was his and it was rabid. Police officers told the citizens who alerted that the law criminalizing cruelty to animals had not yet entered into force and left.
As the author of the law, I would like to inform everyone that the law has been in force since 23 October and I have officially applied to the Acting Chief of the RA Police to instruct to launch an investigation against Surik Aghajanyan under Article 258 Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, which provides for one to three years’ imprisonment.
Let no one think that we have passed a law for decoration and that the “beasts” can continue to torture and kill animals.
It would not happen. We will not leave to do so.
One more thing: Mr. Acting Chief of Police; assign a body to organize awareness training for your subordinates so that they will know when and which law in their field has come into force.
P.S. The assistant to the person, who brutally executed the dog, wrote a tearful text that her boss kept and sanctified every creature created by God. In fact, he protects the animals by shooting. And the one saying this is a woman. And probably, a mother as well,” she wrote.
Yesterday, information was published that the director of “Dilijan National Park” fired on a dog living in “Getap” restaurant complex in Dilijan.
Police did not take any action on the alert.
