Today, at 12:00, a special session of the National Assembly, dedicated to the inauguration of the fourth President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, will be convened at Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex. 1,300 people, including diplomats accredited in the Republic of Armenia, public and political figures of the Diaspora, high- officials will participate in the event

The NA Speaker will open today’s the Special Session of the National Assembly, after which the RA State Flag, the emblem of the presidential power, the Motherland’s Constitution and the Holy Gospel will be brought to the hall.

The newly elected President of Armenia will be invited to the chair and read the text of the oath. The president of Armenia assumes the post of the oath given to the people: “Assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Armenia, I swear: unconditionally fulfill the requirements of the Constitution, to respect the human and civil rights and fundamental freedoms, to ensure the independence, territorial integrity and security of the country for the glory of our Homeland and for the welfare of our people.”

Then the President of Armenia will receive the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians. After that, the incumbent president will address his first message to the people and the session will end.

National Assembly deputies, as well as representatives of several ministries have already arrived in the Sport and Concert Complex.
