Nelly Grigoryan, journalist of “Aravot” Daily received the prize the “Journalist of the Year” during the Anti-Corruption award ceremony on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December .
She was recognized the “Journalist of the Year” for publications referring to corruption risks and ineffective spending from the state budget.
The award was established by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia.
Due to some technical problems Ms Nelly Grigoryan was unable to participate in the award ceremony, so Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, Coordinator of the Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia handed her award today.
“This award is very important not only for the journalists but also for the society as well. We aim to bring the coverage of the anti-corruption field to a more specialized level, where the journalists would initiate and ensure the coverage of different events and occurrences in this field,” Mr. Zadoyan said handing the award to the journalist.
