The next Meeting of Council of CIS Heads of State will be held in Moscow in 2017, Sergey Lebedev, the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States announced this. The information is provided from Interfax.

Almazbek Atabaev, the President of Kyrgyzstan mentioned during his speech that according to the taken decision, the presidency of the CIS will be transferred to Russia from 1 January, 2017.

To Lebedev’s question whether he was going to accept the presidency, Putin answered with great pleasure.

During the summit of the Council held in Bishkek, Sergey Lebedev has informed that in accordance with the suggestion of the president of the Russian Federation a decision has been taken to hold the next meeting of Council of CIS Heads of State in Moscow, on 11 October, 2017.

Lebedev announced that during the session the heads of the delegations have confirmed the agenda of the meeting in a narrow format.
