At the moment there are numerous police forces centralized in the Khorenatsi Street, a dense chain of police officers. Today, before the demonstration had started the Police began to arrest loads of people, including Canadian-Armenian actress Arsine Khanjyan who is the wife of the world-known director Atom Egoyan.
Because of the mass detentions the demonstration had been taken to the Liberty Square, however after a short time the gathered people decided to march to the Khorenatsi Street.
At this moment it is known that the coordinating group is no longer responsible for the further course of the demonstration. The majority of them has been detained by the police.
A while ago one of the young people coordinating the rallies informed that the authorities were given 45 minutes to fulfill two requirements. The first one is to release all the detained and the second one is Serj Sargsyan’s resignation. Now the gathered people are waiting for a response in the neighboring area of the Khorenatsi Street. The time will be up in 15 minutes.
