During the clashes that took place in Khorenatsi Street at night there are injured among the journalists as well. The RA Ombudsman issued a statement on this facts.
This is a strongly condemned display of violence in general, and also an extremely negative occurrence from the aspect of hindrance to the legal professional activities of a journalist.
I remind that hindrance to the legal professional activities of a journalist is a criminally punishable act, regardless whether the perpetrator of the act of criminal nature is the representative a state body or a citizen participating in the gathering. In this regard, all the materials that we have were sent to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
We turn to all citizens who have video records pr information certifying execution of violence against journalists to provide those materials to the RA Human Rights Office, so that we are able to initiate activities that are in the scope of authority of the Ombudsman, to make the evidence of primary character.
Note that this night, violence was performed against Gevorg Tosunyan, the Journalist of Iravaban.net.
