At the night of 26 April and the morning of 27 April 18 cases of ceasefire violation by the enemy ware registered in the north eastern direction of the Armenian – Azerbaijan border. The Azerbaijani side used different caliber weapons and sniper rifles and opened irregular fire towards the Armenian soldiers.
The vanguard unites of the RA defense Army showed restraint, and resort to retaliatory actions only in case of necessity and confidently control the situation on border.
According to the operative data provided by the NKR Defense Army, during 26 April and to this moment the enemy continues intensive shelling along the whole frontline, as well as the peaceful settlement using different caliber mortars, cannons, MM -21 (Grad) units and 9M33 33M type missile complex and made over 550 shots towards the NKR positions and peaceful settlements.
More intensive shelling was recorded in the north eastern direction of the line of contact. The peaceful settlements Martakert, Nerkin Horatagh and others were shelled.
As a result of the enemy’s aggressive actions, soldier of the Defense Army Hayk Minasyan (born in 1996) was deadly wounded.
The RA Defense Ministry shares the grief of loss and expresses its support to the family members of fallen soldiers, friends and colleagues.
The vanguard unites of the Defense Army carried out punitive measures to suppress the enemy’s activity causing the enemy great losses of manpower and equipment.
At this moment the situation along the whole line of contact is relatively calm.
