At the night on 25 to 26 April, 15 violations of cease-fire regime were registered in the north eastern section of the Armenian – Azerbaijani border. The Azerbaijani side used weapons of different calibers and irregularly fired in the direction of the Armenian frontier guardsVanguard divisions of the RA Armed Forces show restraint, resort to retaliatory actions only in case of necessity and confidently control the situation at the border. According to the operative information received from the NKR Defense Army, at the night on 25 to 26 April, the enemy violated the ceasefire on NKR-Azerbaijani line of contact over 80 times. The enemy used almost all kinds of weapons in its arsenal, specifically 60 mm (26 shells), 82 mm (75 shells) mortars, RPG-7 (7 shells, ), SPG-9 (2 shells), and AGS-17 (3 shells) greanade launchers, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft twin-barreled auto-cannon (200 shots), TR-107 reactive rocket launcher and a tank. In addition the enemy fired on Martakert settlement with CU -21 (Grad) The “Grad” Multiple Rocket Launcher System (14 missiles) and opened artillery fire towards Mataghis (8 bombs).
As a result of violation of the ceasefire by the enemy, two soldiers, Tigran Poghosyan (born in 1992) and Aram Arushanyan (born in 1972) were killed.
In order to neutralize the aggressive actions of the enemy NKR Army’s undertook preventive steps and hit the primary target positions and fire bases of the enemy, causing significant manpower and equipment losses.
Currently the situation along the line of contact is relatively calm.
