Two Deaths as a Result of Explosion of the Bus on Halabyan Street

On 25.04.2016 at 21.51 an emergency call was received, that a bus exploded: the smoke was seen near the cafe “Nig” on the crossroads of Halabian-Arzumanian Streets. There were casualties: help of rescuers was needed. The RA Minister of Emergency Situations A. Yeritsyan, RS temporary acting director, r/s Major-General V. Gabrielyan, RS deputy of RS Director r/s colonel A. Tsolakyan, the head of rescue dipartment of Yerevan city r/s colonel M. Ghazaryan and the head of crisis management national center r/s colonel H. Khangeldyan arrived at the scene.

It turned out, that the explosion occurred on the 63rd line of the municipal bus (“Bogdan” with l/p 4829S) route.

According to 26.04.2016 at 04.20 there were 8 casualties: Hasmik Suren Melkonyan (born in 1963), Anush Arshaluys Yeghikyan (born in 1979), Harutyun Nazar Terzyan (born in 1971), Edgar Arayik Gasparyan (born in 2002), Anahit Sargis Mikaelyan (born in 2002), Roland Surik Khojayan (born in 2001), Aregnaz Sargis Dalechyan (born in 1955), Artur Vachik Margaryan (born in 1994) who was hospitalized to medical center of “Scientific Center for Radiation Medicine and Burns”, where he received necessary medical treatment and was discharged. The casualties are RA citizens.

Two persons died as a result of the blast. The deceased victims are yet to be identified.

The injured have been moved to Armenia Medical Center for treatment.

Edgar Gasparyan and Roland Khojayan are in critical condition, Anahit Sargis Mikaelyan is in satisfactory condition and others are in stable critical conditions doctors say.
