A PACE Resolution Condemning the Atrocities of Azerbaijan Must Be Developed: Zaruhi Postanjyan

National Assembly Deputy Ms. Zaruhi Postanjyan has come up with a number of propositions regarding Azerbaijan’s ongoing aggression against Armenia.

Firstly, she deemed it important for the Artsakh Republic to get involved in the negotiation process and voice its position on international platforms as well.

As for the current situation, she insists on collecting the existing evidence that proves the Azerbaijani aggression and the fact that Azerbaijan attacked first. Afterwards, according to her, respective legal documents need to be developed, “We cannot allow the resumption of what happened 25 years ago in Baku, Sumqayit, and other settlements and for which Azerbaijan did not get convicted in international courts. The evidence must be collected, a resolution draft and a statement condemning the Azerbaijani atrocities need to be developed and submitted to PACE.”

In Z. Postanjyan’s words, the NA must form a group of lawyers who will work on this matters. According to her, they can go as far as to raise in PACE the question of termination of Azerbaijan’s membership in the Council of Europe since Azerbaijan breached its obligation not to use force.
