Levon Sogomonyan was charged for large scale embezzlement of 162 million AMD from the ”Saver” Company which is engaged in pawns business, founded by his uncle. The case was investigated in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts, presiding Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan. The prosecutor filed a motion to the court and requested 8 years imprisonment as a punishment forLevon Soghomonyan. Today, during the sitting victims and their representative advocate Hrant Ananyan stated his opinion about Sergey Mardoyan who founded the ”Saver” Company and owned 70 percent shares; his nephew Levon Soghomonyan owned 30 percents of shares.
Since 24 February 2009 till 16 September 2014, the latter was the director of the company and since on 2 May, he combined his position with the position of the cashier as well. He got his privileges against the interest of the company, abused his authority, and embezzled 70 percent share from the owner Sergey Mardoyan, as well as embezzled the large sum of 161.935.865 AMD, which belonged to the company, thus causing severe damages to the company, which as a result caused temporary disruption of the activities of the company.
He did not attend the sitting. It turned out that he was in Goris but had presented a reference that he was under an intensive medical care at Yerevan “Artemisia” Medical center. After committing a crime Levon Soghomonyan did not try to compensate the damage.
Aleksandr Sirunyan, the defender of Levon Sogomonyan will hold the defense speech during the next sitting. He mentioned that some days ago his telephone conversation with Levon Sogomonyan’s son Davit Sogomonyan were illegally wiretapped and became public. The fact was reported to the Special Criminal Service.
During the case investigation it turned out that the expert is not an economist. “She has a diploma of the teacher of mathematics. We have been voicing this for already 4 months with no result. We informed the police that the expert presented false opinion, without being an economist she wrote, I, Ester Zadoyan have higher economic education”.
