According to the Ministry of Health, on 15 January, the number of applied to the medical establishments with acute respiratory infections is 992 cases, of which 873 were under the age of 18. The disease was accompanied with progressing to pneumonia at 502 patients. 231 of them are under the age of 18. The number of pregnant women receiving treatment is 121. Currently, 98 patients are treated in intensive care units. 9 patients are connected to artificial ventilation devises.
Unfortunately, despite all efforts of the medics of the intensive care units, two deaths from H1N1 infection were registered. They were brought to the medical centers on 13 January, too late and in critical conditions. Both had chronic diseases diabetes, cardio-pulmonary insufficiency and were connected to artificial ventilation devises.
Shortly before information of another death of the patient was received. The latter did not apply for medical help though he was sick since January 1. The patient applied to the hospital on 9 January in extremely critical condition.
Note: 14 cases of death from H1N1 virus have been reported, of which 3 were in 2015.
In addition, the RA Ministry of Health informs that the Republic has the supply of the necessary amount of antiviral medication “Tamiflu” (Oseltamivir).
It is reported that the additional amount of antiviral medication “Tamiflu” (Oseltamivir) in 75 milligram capsules have been distributed to all medical establishments, including the hospitals and outpatient clinics of the RA on the order of the RA Minister of Health.
In case of corresponding medical instructions and prescriptions the antiviral medication “Tamiflu” (Oseltamivir) in 75 milligram capsulesshall be provided to the population free of charge.
Meanwhile, on the decree of the RA Minister of Health from 12 January 2016, 12 titles of antiviral medication and vitamins, which were received as humanitarian aid, as well as other medical products have been distributed free of charge to all medical establishment of the regional and rural districts and will be provided to the population free of charge according to the instructions.
