At today’s government session the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan presented a draft for amendments in the Law on “State pensions” introduced by the deputies of the Rule of Law faction of the RA NA, which foresees increasing allowances for mothers of large families.
Specifically, according to the draft the allowances will increase by 20 percent for mothers of 4 children, 40 percent for mothers of 5 children and 60 percent for mothers of 6 and more children. The draft was supported by the fact that Armenia has a demographic problem and thus they should stimulate the growth of birth.
However, the government did not approve the draft and rejected it as they did not agree that the prospect of receiving high allowances after 30 years will stimulate the growth of birth.
