Offshore Case: Paylak Hayrapetyan will claim 8.5 Billion Compensation

Today, the phase of interrogation of witnesses on scandalous Offshore Case continued. Witness Nelly Harutyunyan, who is the Director of the Jewelry Company since 2007 had come to the court.

She said she had met Ashot Sukiasyan only once at the meeting organized by the Ministry of Economy, when the Ministry invited her to participate in the discussion related to the various issues related to diamond processing. She added that she had heard that Ashot Sukiasyan was a businessman and that they did not have friendly or hostile relations.

To the question of the presiding Judge Vladimir Grigoryan whether the former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was present at the meeting, the witness answered negatively. She also said that she had not seen Paylak Hayrapetyan at the meeting either. “If he was there I would have remembered at least.”

Inga Avagyan, the victim’s representative made a motion with request to initiate a civil action against Ashot Avagyan as well. In particular to ban his property and the property of his relatives, the spouse and the children and to exact a sum of 8billion 560 million in Paylak Hayrapetyan’s favor.

Other injured parties of the case filed similar lawsuits. The Court provided time to the defense party to get acquainted with the claims and answer.
