As we have already reported, today, on 6 July, at 09:07, the Aragatsotn Regional Crisis Management Center was alerted that an explosion and a fire occurred in one of the banks of Ashtarak city.

Notably, the explosion took place at the branch of “Unibank” OJSC located at 10 Vardges Petrosyan St. in Ashtarak. As a result of the explosion, one citizen died (R. Kh.), five were injured. The victims were hospitalized in the hospital of Ashtarak city, and one of them was then transferred to the “National Center of Burns” CJSC.

Unibank also issued a statement regarding the incident.

“Regarding the emergency that happened at the Unibank “Ashtarak” branch, we inform that the relevant specialists are working on the spot.

It is with great sadness that we inform that Ruzanna Khachatryan, an employee of the company providing cleaning services at the branch, died as a result of the explosion.

We express our deepest condolences to Ruzanna Khachatryan’s family and relatives and share their great sorrow.

Other employees o the branch were taken to the hospital.

After the conclusion of the experts, we will provide the circumstances of the explosion in the area in more detail,” the statement said.
