I Admit that what I did was a Crime, but I didn`t Commit Murder. Davit Khachatryan

The Prosecutor of the case of Lyuks Stepanyan`s murder Arthur Zakaryan today came up with an accusation speech demanding convict Davit Khachatryan to 18-year imprisonment.

And the latter came up with a statement that he was being judged not for what he did, but for what he didn`t.

That is why Davit Khachatrayn wrote a letter to the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Court of general jurisdiction of Tavush region, Human Rights Defender and the RA General Prosecutor.

Find some excerpts from the application below.

“I inform You that I didn`t have any reason, interest, wish and intention to kill my friend and I didn`t do it. It was also confirmed during the preliminary investigation and judicial examination, but neither the investigative body nor the prosecutors paid attention to those conditions as the relatives of the victim have raised much noise since the first days of the incident, they were even taking the body of their son to Yerevan to put in front of the Government.

…To comfort the crowd many high officials, including the RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, RA General prosecutor (former military prosecutor) Gevorg Kostanyan, RA Head of Police Vladimir Gasparyan and others had to implement their requirements and officially announced in the presence of mass media that I had intentionally killed Lyuks Stepanyan, as well as they promised that I would be strictly punished, and only then the crowd relaxed and went back.

…Because of this injustice, also hearing the accusation speech of the prosecutor and the punishment solicited, I announce a termless hunger-strike starting from today.

I admit that what I did is a crime, but I didn`t commit murder”
