The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the position adopted by the Republic of Armenia to recognize Palestine, considering it a brave and positive step.

Mehdi Sobhani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, stated this in an interview with the correspondent of “Armenpress”, referring to the recognition of the State of Palestine by Armenia.

The Ambassador noted that Iran has already expressed its position on this issue and reaffirmed Tehran’s principled position regarding the Palestinian recognition process.

“You know very well that our principled position is as follows: we do not recognize the child-killing Zionist regime. Emphasizing our principle, we welcome the position and decision adopted by the Republic of Armenia in recognizing Palestine and supporting its people. This brave and positive step that Armenia has taken, shows that the international community really values ​​the rights of the Palestinian people, and also opposes the violation of the rights of Palestinian men, women and children, which is demonstrated by the Zionist regime,” the Ambassador stressed and added that those countries that support Palestine and the rights of its people are on the right side of history.

Mehdi Sobhani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, also added that what is being done against the Palestinian people is known to everyone, but the countries that are silent about these crimes and consider that Israel is doing it for defensive reasons are participants are involved in those crimes as well.
