Zakharova said Russia had taken control of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities

Russia has taken control of a number of nuclear facilities in Ukraine to prevent nuclear provocations by militants, there is a real danger of that. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing on Wednesday.

“During the special operation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation established control over the Chernobyl and Zaporozhye nuclear power plants and their adjacent territories.

This step was taken exclusively to prevent other Ukrainian nationalist terrorist groups. “Foreign mercenaries are using the situation in this country to organize nuclear provocations. There are real risks,” the diplomat said.

It should be reminded that early in the morning of 24 February; Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at ensuring the security of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, as well as removing the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The United States and the European Union have described Russia’s move as a direct aggression by Russia against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine.
