President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has approved the new composition of the government by his decree.

Roman Sklyar has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic.

Yerali Tugjanov, Mukhtar Tileuberdi  and Bakhit Sultanov will hold the posts of Deputy Prime Minister.

Bolat Akchulakov replaced Magzum Mirzagaliev as Minister of Energy.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Defense Minister Murat Bektanov and Interior Minister Erlan Turgumba, retained their positions.

It should be reminded that the protest actions in Kazakhstan started in the first days of the New Year. Residents of the town of Janaoze and Aktau protested against the doubling of the price of liquefied natural gas, which the Ministry of Energy explained by the fact that from 1 January, prices on the electronic stock exchange began to form on the basis of supply and demand.

In response, the authorities declared a state of emergency throughout the country until 19 January and launched an anti-terrorist operation.
