The Kremlin commented on the aggravation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Russia will continue to mediate in the settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the situation can be stabilized only through the implementation of general agreements on Nagorno Karabakh, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, RIA Novosti reported.

“The Russian side will continue to do this (to mediate in the negotiations). We still hope that the only way to stabilize the situation is to implement trilateral agreements. We believe that all countries must first fulfill their obligations. This will guarantee the non-resumption of such incidents,” Peskov said.

He also said that the trilateral summit of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan will be necessary at some stage, but for that the consent of all parties is needed.

“Of course, at some stage such contacts will be necessary, but in order for them to be possible, the consent and readiness of the three parties are needed,” Peskov said.
