Commander of the Russian peacekeepers discussed with the Armenian side the issues of bringing forces to Karabakh: TASS

The Russian commander of the peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, held talks on Wednesday with the Minister of Defense of Armenia and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the republic. The parties discussed issues of bringing in peacekeepers, a source at the headquarters of the Russian peacekeeping forces told TASS.

“During the meeting, the issues of bringing in peacekeepers and setting up peacekeeping posts in the Lachin corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh, the procedure for deploying units, their all-round support and their fulfillment of tasks were discussed,” the agency’s source said.

According to the source, the issues of organizing the activities of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and ensuring the security of Russian servicemen were also discussed.

“The command of the Russian peacekeeping forces has organized interaction with the military departments of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the implementation of peacekeeping tasks, prevention of violations and ensuring the safety of Russian military personnel,” the source added.
