Athens has blamed Ankara for a provocation over an incident involving a plane carrying Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, “Kathimerini” reported.

“Despite the fact that the Greek side has taken all necessary steps to ensure that the government plane carrying Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias passes through Turkish airspace, the Turkish authorities have again provoked,” Greek Foreign Ministry spokesman Vasilis Koinis said.

Earlier, Greek public television ERT reported that Turkey had kept the Greek government plane for 20 minutes on the Turkish-Iraqi border north of Mosul, refusing to allow it to fly over its airspace.
