The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, consistently and effectively fighting for the detection, prevention and disruption of intelligence activities against the territorial integrity and external security of the Republic of Armenia by the special services of foreign states, has revealed a case of high treason by a former high-ranking military serviceman.

The National Security Service reported.

In particular, as a result of numerous, effective investigative and other judicial actions initiated during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated in the Investigation Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as well as operative-investigative measures taken in parallel, sufficient evidence was obtained that the RA citizen, who by the relevant order of the RA Minister of Defense, serving in the RA Armed Forces and holding responsible positions during different years, handed over or collected information containing state secrets to hand over to the representatives of a foreign organization, provided other assistance for hostile activities to the detriment of the territorial integrity and external security of the Republic of Armenia.
