The Issue of Abolishing the Institute of the Constitutional Court and having a Supreme Court is being discussed: Nikol Pashinyan

Today, on 16 May, during a press conference, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in response to a question from Iravaban.net about the Professional Committee on Constitutional Reforms, which started work in February 2020, and the main directions of the changes in the commission will be discussed, the volume of work that are going on, and whether there are any major changes in the judiciary and law enforcement agencies that have been developed during this period, and if “yes” what are they?” The prime Minister noted:

“We will not change the system of management, but during this period we will discuss the existing problems and try to find solutions. One of the topics of discussion is the abolition of the institute of the Constitutional Court in general, and instead it is the option of having a Supreme Court, which is accepted in a number of countries. And if before the next year’s constitutional referendum, we see that there are no significant changes in the judiciary, we will radically solve those problems.”
