I repeat that coronavirus is not a particularly dangerous infection. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this on the air of “Azatutyun” RC, referring to the question whether he agrees that the situation in the country is exclusively a consequence of the fact that the Minister did not think that the coronavirus was not a special dangerous virus. And there is no need to take special measures.

“Especially dangerous infections are known to us with 50 percent deaths, and I’m surprised that my explanation, which has been given many times, raises questions again. As for special events, I meant special events for special infections, which do not mean that no events have been held since the end of January. All appropriate and applicable measures have been taken,” Torosyan said.

To the observation that a few days ago Torosyan stated at his press conference that we cannot return to the previous life for 1-2 years, it means that we have to live with gloves, masks and keeping the social distance for another 2 years, Torosyan responded.

“Probably yes, because even if we have a decline in the spread of the disease due to our measures now, which the whole world is striving for, there is no guarantee that there will be no more outbreaks in the fall, that is, there is a high probability that the fall will be different. Outbreaks will resume in different countries in different seasons, because the circulation of the virus will not disappear even in the case of good scenarios.”

Touching upon the question of whether it is possible to have a recurrence of the disease in the treated and discharged patients, Torosyan noted that such cases have occurred all over the world, but it is possible that the examination was not performed correctly at the time of the person’s discharge.
