Head of Corruption Prevention Committee learned about Edgar Shatiryan’s Resignation from Facebook Status

On 26 November, Edgar Shatiryan, a member of the Corruption Prevention Committee, announced that he would resign.

On the same day, the Committee elected the Chair. Shatiryan was had been nominated, but was not elected. Speaking to Iravaban.net Shatiryan said that the reason was not to be elected Chair.

Speaking to Iravaban.net Shatiryan said that the reason was not to be elected Chair. He also said that he had not told anyone about his resignation.

“It is a requirement of law that a member of the committee who resigns, immediately informs the chairman of the committee, which I will do a little later. The resigning members informs the subject nominated him to the position, which will also be done and the written application for resignation will be submitted to the National Assembly in the name of the NA Speaker, as well.” Edgar Shatiryan said.

Speaking to us, the Chair of the Corruption Prevention Committee Haykuhi Harutyunyan noted that they had learned about Edgar Shatira’s resignation from his Facebook page status. “No prior notice, notification or discussion had taken place. After that we tried to find out the possible reasons, we have talked, but there was no other discussion, or other development,” Haykuhi Harutyunyan said.
