Embassy of the German Federation in the Republic of Armenia has signed a €30.000 worth grant agreement with “New Generation” NGO, which is aimed at the protection of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights in the Republic of Armenia. According to the source, the project is aimed to establish a shelter for at least 15 homeless LGBT persons providing them with protection and vital needs; provide general free legal advice services and legal assistance to such persons. In addition during a 5-days seminar organized in the framework of the project,t 15 human rights activists from 10 marzes of the RA will be trained to be able to struggle against discrimination and castigation. 10 representatives of the youth from 10 marzes of Armenia will have the opportunity to be trained during the five-days seminar, and will gain skills which will provide them ability to struggle for freedom and justice of LGBT persons in Armenia, organize two public discussions about the state of LGBT persons in the Armenian public and aimed to improve their state; as well as on the strengthening the rights of LGBT persons with participation of the representatives of LGBT community of the RA and the international LGBT public.
