Gohar Yenokyan was arrested on 4 May 2015, in the framework of the criminal case initiated under the requirements of Part 1 of Article 35-104 of the RA Criminal code on 10.06.2014 in the Department of Especially Important Cases of General Investigation Department of the RA Police.
On 3 April, on the decision of the RA prosecutor General, the criminal case was sent to the RA Special Investigation Service of the RA for continuation of the preliminary investigation.
During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case factual data on the fact that Gohar Yenokyan and Arayik Yenokyan on mercenary purposes, having the aim not to return the money taken from Karo Karapetyan with the help of Khazhak Badalyan, undertook and conducted preparatory activities aimed to murder Karo Karapetyan. But Arayik Yenokyan was arrested with a suspicion of stealing large sums of money by fraud on 15 March, 2012. Thus, the prepared crime of murder was not accomplished as a result of circumstances not depending on their will.
On 07.05.2015, a decision was made to involve Gohar Yeritsyan as a defendant under the requirements of Article 35-104, Part 2 Paragraphs 7 and 8of the RA Criminal Code in the framework of the criminal case.
Given the fact that there is a reasonable suspicion that the defendant Gohar Yenokyan charged with criminal offenses related to the criminal conduct attributable to her is accused of particularly serious crime, and thus the circumstances provide to suppose that the latter may be hiding from the criminal investigative body, however taking into account the defendant’s age, decision was taken to apply cognizance not to leave as a precautionary measure against the defendant.
Notably, on 05.05.2015, a group of the RA NA MPs had applied to the Prosecutor General of the RA with a petition to release Gouar Yenokyan from arrest considering her age and poor health condition (hypertension).
